Day 1: Getting to Cairo

Get in Cairo and make your way to your lodging after your arrival. Welcome Meeting: Get to know the program coordinators, receive a schedule overview, and receive cultural advice. Savour a classic Egyptian dinner as a welcome gesture.

Day 2: The Old Wonders of Cairo

The Great Pyramids and the Sphinx can be visited in Giza. Discover artefacts in the Egyptian Museum, including the treasures of Tutankhamun. Local Market: To experience a bit of the local way of life, head over to the Khan El Khalili bazaar.

Day 3: Cairo - the city of Islam and Christianity

Explore the Sultan Hassan and Al-Rifa'i Mosques, two of the city's most important mosques. Ben Ezra Synagogue, the Coptic Museum, and the Hanging Church are must-sees in Coptic Cairo.

Day 4: Alexandria - Coastal City Travel to Luxor

Take an early train or bus to Luxor.

Day 5: Alexandria

Cultural Exploration Montazah Palace Gardens: Take a leisurely stroll through the lovely gardens and pay a visit to the palace. Local Cuisine: Savour fresh seafood and other regional specialities.

Day 6: Luxor - Valley of the Kings Travel to Luxor

Take a train or fly to Luxor.

Day 7: Luxor - The West Bank Valley of the Kings

Take a tour of the tombs of ancient pharaohs.

Day 8 - Nubian Culture in Aswan

There are two ways to get from Luxor to Aswan: by train or by air. Sanctuary of Philae: Discover this island-based sanctuary devoted to the goddess Isis. Nubian community: Experience the customs and cuisine of a nearby Nubian community.

Day 9: Aswan - Abu Simbel

Visit the stunning temples constructed by Ramses II in Abu Simbel, one of Egypt's most striking locations for a full day excursion. Travel back to Aswan: Free evening.

Day 10: Travelling on a Nile Cruise

Nile Cruise Departure: Set sail for a leisurely excursion on a Nile cruise ship. Enjoy scenery along the Nile and activities onboard your cruise.

Day 11: Nile Cruise

Edfu and Kom Ombo Visit the well-preserved Temple of Horus.

Day 12: Return to Cairo Disembark and Travel to Cairo

Take a train or plane back to Cairo. Have a farewell dinner and reflect on your experiences. Tips: Dress modestly; Egypt is a conservative country; wear clothing that covers your shoulders and knees, especially when visiting religious sites. Hydration & Sun Protection. Be mindful of the heat and wear sunscreen. Cultural Sensitivity: Show respect for local customs and traditions.
